Mornin', folks. Don't suppose ya would mind entertainin' a couple questions?

[Joker is on what some might recognize as Route 39, not too far from Olivine itself. He's sitting on the ground crosslegged, a Phanpy in his lap. For some reason, he's moving a finger slowly in front of the Pokemon's face. The Phanpy doesn't react, although her ears do twitch everytime he speaks. Not too far from him is Joker's Zoroark, cradling an egg in his own lap and seeming strangely concerned. Even the Ringleader himself seems a bit subdued, lost in whatever he's doing.]

A friend a mine and I were wonderin' about the kind of Pokemon that were most popular, least, and just tend ta get forgotten around here.

So! What're yer favorite Pokemon, either by looks or by skills? What are the kinds ya just plain can't stand? And finally, what Pokemon do ya think tend ta get forgotten?

It'll be fun ta hear what ya have ta say.

[For a moment longer after he finishes speaking, he keeps moving his hand about the Phanpy's head and even makes a sudden jabbing gesture in her direction although he doesn't actually touch her. Still no response. Finally he looks to his Zoroark.]

I think ya may be right. Ha, I wonder if this is what that letter meant?

Popularity-wise, I think it'd be safe to say that eevees are pretty popular around here. They're pretty versatile so I can understand the appeal.

I'm not too fond about those goomies that appeared a while back though.

Being able to decide what it evolves into definitely helps when you're filling out a spot for your team.

[ His Glaceon's become a bit of a diva after she turned pretty tho. But have a flinch at the memory of all that goo. ]

No, not really. It means well but slime's just so hard to get out of your clothes.

Is that Phanpy okay? asks Ruskin.

Well, depending on what ya would say is 'okay'... She doesn't seem ta mind, at least.

[He gives a sudden snap of his fingers by one of her ears, and she immediately turns her head to it and reaches out curiously with her trunk.]

Fairly sure she's blind.

[Snake looks to his pokèmon and they all chatter their sympathies. Except for John who suggests that not even Team Rocket would want a pokèmon like that.

The two other snakes Snake keeps on his team started making quite the fuss as they hiss their discontent at John's notions. It keeps up for a while as John seems to spit back some not-so-nice retorts until finally Snake recalls John, looking tired.]

I love anything that's big and fearsome enough. Of course that pretty much applies to all of my team.

I can't stand the overly cutesy ones. You know, Pikachu and the like.

Ha, well they sure make for quite a sight when they're all lined up! I certainly wouldn't wanna run inta ya on a dark night with all yer team out~.

Ideally, I'll reach the point where I can be terrifying even by broad daylight.

[She's... probably joking. That is totally the grin of one who is joking.]

I've definitely surprised a few. It's always fun to watch the reactions of people who expect something small and adorable to pop out when I toss my balls out. Berserker, of course, gets some especially great ones.

[When Veronica answers she seems to be a little preoccupied with the Caterpie on her shoulder.]

I haven't been here long. So, I don't know what's popular or not.

...Though, Beedrill are bad apparently.

Ha! Well, they're just bugs with big stingers. That's enough ta make most folks wary.

Thought about just goin' through the 'Dex ta pass the time? That's what me and Angel do sometimes.

I think Porygon is quickly becoming my favorite Pokemon, if only for the fact that they're...so closely related with what I've always done, even before I arrived here.

[He tilts his head a little, watching Joker moving his hands around the Phanpy with no reaction whatsoever. He can take a guess as to what's wrong, but...]

W-what's wrong?

Ah, just a bit damaged like I am.

[He gives a fond pat to the Phanpy's head.]

Don't think she can see- that or she's real good at ignorin' me.

[Ruskin manuvers to the front of the screen.] I'm sorry. John isn't always the nicest, but he has his own reasons for that. Sometimes he says things that hurts other people, but he's still with our team, so all we can do is try to get him to see sense while making sure anyone he's mean too knows that they are amazing.

[Gaskell moves to a more central location in the view of the pokègear and adds his own thoughts,] I think you're even stronger than any other pokèmon might be. You might not be able to see, but you know how to stand up for yourself, and you won't let that disadvantage hold you back! I don't know if I could be so bold.

[Snake finally speaks up for Joker's sake,] John said something cruel to Phanphy, but Phanphy defended herself, even if she was a little mean to say that about our whole team. But now we want her to know that we don't feel that way, says Ruskin.

Ah. [Joker gives an understanding click of his tongue as the Phanpy seems to consider all of this.] Well, me an' Snake know that sorta thing well enough, don't we?

[A redhead in England with no parents and no home and no arm, and a man who got pointed out and mocked for his scales. First tier members could all remember times like that.]

[The Phanpy finally seems to settle down a bit, carefully making her way closer until she can bump her trunk into the 'Gear. There's some more patting before she seems satisfied.]

Oh, you're talking through a thing. That explains things!

It's not hard. I have a very good trunk. How many of you are there? I can't tell apart the hissing just yet.

Water types! Especially Wayfinder, he's pretty much the best pokemon ever.

Heh- looks like you've got some high praise there, haven't ya? [It's said to the Staryu before Joker switches his attention back to Kairi.]

I only got my first water type not too long ago, actually. You'll have ta tell me the good ones.

I'm biased towards Charizards. And just about any Pokémon that's huge, powerful, and intimidating.

[It's said with a grin, while Flare grumbls in the background. C'mon, stop that. Stop giving him blind praise. Power isn't everything.]

Steel types and dragons are probably my favorite types. Not too big on using small Pokémon that can't or won't evolve, though.

[They're too cute, and it cramps his style. Mostly.]

[Not that Joker minds her terrifying Pokemon. Makes for interesting shows.]

Pokemon that don't evolve don't seem like they'd be popular in general... Think there's plenty a exceptions?

I've always been partial to Dark types. I get along well with them.

[He does have quite a few on his team, too.]

As for what I don't like...Shedinjas. If I never see one of those things again it'll be too soon.

[Denzel is huddling with his own Pokemon when he notices what Joker is doing with his own and watches the scene intensely.]

...What's wrong with her?

[Crocker face twists into distress and concern about Joker's Pokemon but Denzel also seems a bit skittish about talking to Joker still.]

[Angel looks up when Crocker speaks, actually frowning a bit, but Joker just gives an absentminded nod.]

Deaf, I'm thinkin'. [A few snaps by her ear which she doesn't seem to notice at all.] Guess even Pokemon ain't immune ta that sorta thing.

Well, Magikarp isn't very strong, but I actually think it's pretty cute! And I'm sure he's destined for greatness. I don't think he's very popular, though...probably because he can't do much in battle. But I found a guy fishing and he was using a whole team of them! I was really surprised!

And I don't have one, but I actually really want one that looks like this...

It's called a Clefairy! It's really cute, but I can't seem to figure out where I could get one of my own...I don't know why, but for the most part, I seem to think the Normal-types are the cutest!

I've seen a few people with that, I think the jump in evolution charms 'em.

[Because nothing says 'precious' than a flopping useless fish that evolves into a very angry giant dragon snake thing. God bless you, Pokemon world.]

Sounds like ya would get along with Whitney over in Goldenrod! She finds 'em her favorite too. I've chatted with her a fair bit. From what I know, ya would find Clefairy and the like over in Kanto. Aah... Mount Moon, that's where it is.
