Mornin', folks. Don't suppose ya would mind entertainin' a couple questions?

[Joker is on what some might recognize as Route 39, not too far from Olivine itself. He's sitting on the ground crosslegged, a Phanpy in his lap. For some reason, he's moving a finger slowly in front of the Pokemon's face. The Phanpy doesn't react, although her ears do twitch everytime he speaks. Not too far from him is Joker's Zoroark, cradling an egg in his own lap and seeming strangely concerned. Even the Ringleader himself seems a bit subdued, lost in whatever he's doing.]

A friend a mine and I were wonderin' about the kind of Pokemon that were most popular, least, and just tend ta get forgotten around here.

So! What're yer favorite Pokemon, either by looks or by skills? What are the kinds ya just plain can't stand? And finally, what Pokemon do ya think tend ta get forgotten?

It'll be fun ta hear what ya have ta say.

[For a moment longer after he finishes speaking, he keeps moving his hand about the Phanpy's head and even makes a sudden jabbing gesture in her direction although he doesn't actually touch her. Still no response. Finally he looks to his Zoroark.]

I think ya may be right. Ha, I wonder if this is what that letter meant?

I haven't been here long. So, I don't know what's popular or not.

...Though, Beedrill are bad apparently.

Ha! Well, they're just bugs with big stingers. That's enough ta make most folks wary.

Thought about just goin' through the 'Dex ta pass the time? That's what me and Angel do sometimes.

[She thinks this over for a moment, her Caterpie munching contentedly on a leaf it found.]

I guess the size of them would be a problem too. The bugs around here are huge!

[Was it scientific experimentation? Because that's what she's going with.] I should. It seems that's the best thing to do while I travel.

Get a fire type, and that keeps 'em wary.

[Ruby as his primary traveling steed has always been handy that way, at least.]

It can help ya figure out what kinda team ya wanna put together, although I'll admit that's not how it ended up workin' for me. Sometimes ya just find yerself with all sorts.

Fire type, okay. That makes sense.

[Burning things with fire does generally help matters, though she'd only use that as a last resort.]

I could find a team, but I don't really want to.

[She gestures to her new Caterpie.] I found a new one though. My second Pokémon.

Congrats then~! I've seen those 'round. I hear they evolve inta somethin' pretty indeed.

Hmm, pretty?

[Well, considering it looks like some sort of caterpillar, that sounds about right.

She looked at it for a moment, uncertainly.]

Well, I'll find out when it evolves. It's not very good at training though.

Ya get some like that. Sometimes they need motivation, sometimes they just plain don't care.

Got a lil' Abra that sleeps too much ta want much of it.

[Abra... she sort of knew what that was actually.]

And all my Caterpie does is eat and ride on my shoulder. All my Pokémon want to do is have me carry them.

Heh! Get somethin' furry for winter, and that won't be too much of a bad thing. That's what I learned when I got here.

[She had to smile a little at that thought.]

I guess I'll think about that. It would be warm at least.

It's not somethin' you'll have ta worry about for a while. We've had bits of odd weather 'bout this place, but so far things haven't got too cold, eh? Winter is still a ways off.

No, they haven't. I have a cloak that protects against most kinds of weather, so that will help.

Oh, sounds handy. Where'd ya get that?

I got it a long time ago, it was a gift. It's also the clothes I arrived in.

Aah, that explains it. Count yerself lucky, one time I saw a lass come in here, dead a winter, wearin' nothin' but a swimsuit.

Huh, guess some people can have the worst luck.

But this place is manageable, once ya get used ta it.
