...So, me and Jimmy aren't allowed in the hotel in Violet anymore.

[Joker says it with a bit of a grin on his face as he's seated outside near Sprout Tower as it's night time. There are still probably hundreds of Noibat flapping around. There's at least a dozen attached to him and Angel the Mime Jr who's sitting next to him.]

Guess yer not allowed ta hundred bats or so in yer hotel rooms.

...Or spillin' out inta the hallways.

...Or gettin' inta the coffee pot although that wasn't on purpose.

Lesson for us all, innit?

[He looks at Joker curiously, and then nods to the cats who excitedly grab for the candy. At Jimmy's name though he brightens.]

Ah. I don't think I've ever... seen you in person. I'm Royce. Royce Bracket.

Oh, the two of ya know each other?

[Jimmy nods, brightening as well.]

Yeah, he's Red's friend! I helped him name a bunch of his Pokemon a while back.

[He helped him out last month, too...but there's no need to bring that up right now.]

[If Jimmy's not going to... well, Royce could. But he's currently more worried about the kittens.]

Naming things... is not a strong point of mine.

[The cats wander over to him again and cling to his legs. A Magneton zips over towards them and floats nearby. Something wrong?]

It's fine, Ampere. Just... just fine.

[The Magneton buzzes, and takes off again. Royce isn't worried about them, though.]

So I take it you were the ones... responsible for that noise earlier?

[pipers_son]

Yep. We were helpin' out the not-so-local wildlife!

[That sure is a pleasant way of saying they stuffed a hundred bats into two different rooms, isn't it?]

[SURE IS.]

Yeah, hah...it's funny how much noise those little bats can make when they're all together in a group like that...

[me_first]

[... Well. He can't... really blame them, can he? They were trying to help...]

Maybe next time think of somewhere less... populated to store them. If it ever comes up again, which it might. It might not. Who can tell?

Are you planning on keeping them all?

We'll keep it in mind.

[Mostly on the basis that Joker can't use this hotel again since he's been kicked out of it.]

[Jimmy nods, reaching up to pet the Noibat on his shirt again.]

We prolly won't be able to keep all of them, but I do want to keep a couple. 'Specially this little guy here.

I see. I caught one earlier. He... likes my hair.

[He's not there now, but he was earlier.]

Yeah, Jims would know all about that, wouldn't ya?

[Joker chuckles.]

[The boy laughs too, nodding.]

Yup! That's where I found him.

[In reference to the bat in his arms, who is watching Royce now curiously.]

[The cats all look up at Royce, who just stares back for a moment and then pulls out three Pokeballs. They meow, and he returns them, shaking the fur off of his pants. He likes these pants.]

Were the two of you in town for the gym, or for another reason?

[pipers_son]

Oh, we took care a the gym here ages ago!

[Joker leans back and reaches up to scratch one bat behind the ear.]

We're just tourin' around Johto right now for the fun of it- and ta see what new creatures are runnin' around.

Yep! Whenever a new Pokemon pops up, we head on over to check it out. These bats were a surprise though, so I'm glad we decided to stay here for a little longer!

Ah. Ampere recently swept the gym here, giving us... well. Giving us our first gym victory.

[pipers_son]

Heeey, congratulations! Electric types sure do come in handy for that sorta thing, don't they?

Have ya celebrated yet?

Yeah! I was able to beat Falkner with my Manectric, Leader, all by himself!

..Well, he was still an Electrike then, but still.

Not... not really. I've been mostly preparing to head out towards Goldenrod.

Now that ain't any fun. Ya should celebrate yer victory a little. Ain't that right, Jims?

Sure! S'not every day you beat your first gym, right?

I guess... you have a point. And it was a good birthday present.

It's yer birthday? That's definitely cause for celebration!

C'mon, ya can have dinner with us! It'll be our treat, especially after we bothered yer friends and all!
