[From the looks of things, Joker is somehow stuck in a tree. Also from the look of things, he fell in it.]

Well, that was a bit of a failure, far as things go.

So, any folks wanna suggest somethin' of the flyin' variety? Me and Torch gave it a try but, well, she's a bit too fond a goin' fast and doesn't care for the gloomy weather.


[Action]
[Anyone actually in Goldenrod and passing through the local park... Well, you can probably spot Joker still stuck in the tree. Every now and then he gives a bit of a wiggle, shifts to the one arm, looks down... and then apparently decides to stay stuck. The Charizard flapping about and giving dismissive snorts doesn't seem impressed.]

[Could you look any less uncool, trainer?]

[The Charizard in question swoops down around to join the conversation, making an ominous grumbling noise.]

Oi, you- I didn't say that's what ya did. I didn't agree with her! It mighta been a little bit yer fault- [More grumbling!] Wasn't finished! A little bit your fault, a little bit mine, mostly this godawful weather. Agreed?

[Torch doesn't seem entirely sure about this, but just crosses her arms and goes silent. Joker looks back to Celes.]

So there ya have it. Doesn't help she likes goin' fast, that sure didn't make it any better.

[As Torch swoops down, Celes' Gothitelle appears seemingly out of nowhere beside her trainer - she doesn't expect the Charizard to attack, but still. What sort of bodyguard would she be if she didn't respond to potential threats?

...probably the sort of bodyguard who doesn't nothing but prevent the raindrops from hitting her trainer, but details...]

Ah. Admittedly, Joker-san, I can see how using a Fire Pokemon in this weather could be an unwise decision...

[Really, you kind of deserve to be up that tree...]

I'll admit ta that. [Another Charizard snort.] Think it depends on each a them. Ruby- my Rapidash- she'll soldier through it like she's delivering somethin' ta the Queen.

Still, Torch was my only flier so we thought we'd give it a go. Now we know better.

[He pauses to give a sharp whistle to Torch, spotting the way she's eyeing that Gothitelle. No starting fights, that's the last thing he needs today.]

I've been meanin' ta pick up a new member a the team at any rate.

[To her credit, Victoria won't move. She'll just...continue to stare creepily towards Joker and his Charizard because that's...what she does, um.

Like Pokemon, like Trainer!]

What were you considering? Hopefully something that you won't fall off...

[Maybe he should just ask Angel to always ride withim as a safety net...]

I've been havin' quite a few dragon types suggested ta me. Salamence seems ta be the winnin' choice, but I suppose I'll see what the Breedin' Center has up for adoption. They have lots a fully evolved types over there, which makes things easy sometimes.

Ah, yes, the mysterious Dragon-type...many people have recommended them to me, too.

[Really, she's been getting comments about the strength and power of Dragon Pokemon ever since she started becoming a proper trainer, but she still hasn't obtained one! Ah, but there must be a good reason!]

[Your priorities really are something, Celes.]

[Before Joker can answer, there's the sound of little feet going through puddles, and soon enough a certain Mime Jr. and Glaceon have joined the party. With some rather, of course, Mime-like movements, Angel uses her psychic powers to help get her ridiculous owner out of his predicament.]

[Joker's shoes clack onto the ground and he fiddles with his clothes before he grins to Celes. He carries on with the conversation like there wasn't any pause.]

Not a single one? Really?

Not particularly. My Pokemon need to be powerful, yes, but they also need to be beautiful. No exceptions.

[...actually, speaking of which, the sight of Joker's two Pokemon appear to have pleased her, as she soon reaches into her sleeve and retrieves a Pokeball.]

Ah, your Glaceon has reminded me...

[And with a flash, she releases...her Glaceon?]

I decided upon the evolution I wanted. Your help was most appreciated.

[Joker's own perks up, ears raising before he immediately sniffs over in friendly curiosity. Well hello there, new friend!]

[Joker just gives a chuckle before bowing.]

Pleasure ta be a service~! Think it would be a bit arrogant a me ta say ya have good taste, considerin'?

[Celes' Glaceon moves to return said sniffing, but a Look from her trainer immediately makes her back away nervously and sit neatly at her feet.

Decorum, Cynthia. You're not an Eevee any more - time to learn to behave.]

[Ace doesn't seem to understand the issue, but a slight click of Joker's tongue has him behaving too, cuddling up to Angel. When in doubt, go to the clown.]

Care ta continue this conversation indoors somewhere? It's rather dreary skies we've got ourselves under, and I could use somethin' warm after that lil' incident.

Tea sure would brighten up this day, wouldn't it? [He pauses only for a moment to return Torch to her Pokeball- the Charizard seems glad for that.] Any place ya like in particular? If not, I'm sure I can remember somethin', I've wandered about the city enough.
