[From the looks of things, Joker is somehow stuck in a tree. Also from the look of things, he fell in it.]

Well, that was a bit of a failure, far as things go.

So, any folks wanna suggest somethin' of the flyin' variety? Me and Torch gave it a try but, well, she's a bit too fond a goin' fast and doesn't care for the gloomy weather.

[Anyone actually in Goldenrod and passing through the local park... Well, you can probably spot Joker still stuck in the tree. Every now and then he gives a bit of a wiggle, shifts to the one arm, looks down... and then apparently decides to stay stuck. The Charizard flapping about and giving dismissive snorts doesn't seem impressed.]

[Could you look any less uncool, trainer?]

I think I'll just try and get another Pokemon a bit better at this sort a thing...

Torch is a talented lass- [And he's not just saying that because there's some ominous Charizard grumbling.] -but I don't think she's much meant ta have a passenger like me along.

[Chihiro looks off to the side in thought, wracking his brain as he thinks of different sorts of flying Pokemon that he's come across, or at least heard of. ...Well, one definitely comes to mind.]

Have you considered Tropius? Nanami-san has one, and he flew us from New Bark to Goldenrod when I first arrived.

Tropius...? Ah, that's the plant lizard, right?

[Joker that describes so many Pokemon...]

[Didn't Nanami describe it as being like a dinosaur? He forgets now...]

It has, um....bananas under its chin. Or...something that looks like bananas.

[Pokemon continue to be bewildering.]

I...I'm not sure, to tell you the truth.

[He's not actually sure if they're...fruit, or....just a weird body part or something.]

...Pokemon keep surprisin' us in this place, huh?

[Chihiro smiles slightly, nodding.]

Mhm. It looks that way. But...as for a suitable Pokemon for flying, I would recommend Tropius, I think.

They...they are rather large Pokemon, though.

Not a problem in my book! I'm findin' I love most a these creatures. Keep things interestin'.

N-not that your flying isn't good too, I'm sure.

[Torch gives a snort and crosses her arms. You darn bet she's better than 'good'! Joker just laughs.]

We'll keep her ta showboatin' in the ring instead a doin' travel service!

[Chihiro laughs a little, too, stifling it with his hand. Sorry Torch.]

Eheheh...that sounds good. When is your next show, by the way?

Always once a month, middle weekend! Which is next week, in this case.

I was gonna think a goin' ta Olivine while I still had some spare time just ta get that badge, but maybe I'll hold off until my flyin' is a bit better and see what Jims wants- he's my assistant. He does some side acts in the shows.

[There's a brief pause and something in his expression seems to become a little less lighthearted.]

[Chihiro notices Joker's slight shift in his demeanor, and for a long moment he debates whether or not he should ask about it. In the end, he decides that he can't just leave it, but if he doesn't want to talk about it then that's fine too.]

[He shifts, almost uncomfortable.]

Couldn't get through ta Doll's 'Gear.

[Oh.]

...I see. I'm sorry.

[If it helps, she may very well come back...goodness knows Togami didn't stay gone for long.]

...Ain't nothin' good for her back home. Woulda preferred if I'd gone myself.

Didn't tell her about it either. If she remembers both here and there, she'll be upset I lied.

[He wishes he knew of more to say, but he really can't think of anything on the spot.]

Nah, nah. [He sighs and leans his 'Gear against his legs so he can wave his hand.] Don't worry about it. Sorry for droppin' all that on ya.

[He puts on a smile since it matches the mood, sort of, but Chihiro might pick up that after that last bit of business, it isn't honest.]

It's the one my father gave me after I got off the streets, so ya could say it ain't my real one... But better somethin' than nothin', eh?

[He can tell, and he really doesn't know what to do to help. It's one thing having someone you're close to disappear, and still another to have it happen so close to your birthday. It makes him wish he were there with him...though that would just be worse.
