[There's an exasperated sigh followed by a fond chuckle as the video shakes before it's adjusted appropriately. The view is Joker's room and the ringleader in question is actually dressed rather casually for once. A t-shirt and jeans for once, none of his usual makeup... And is his hair actually slick with dark hair dye that a Gardevoir seems to be fussing over?]

[Well. At least Joker seems amused as he shakes his head and Angel the Mime Jr. bounces into frame besides him.]

Cheeky lil' thing. Anyway! Ladies, gentleman, and every other manner a folk that have found themselves in this delightful place...

The Eve's Garden Circus is comin' upon its one year anniversary! That means this month's shows will be even bigger and grander than ever before~. I even have plans ta have fireworks go off during the night, plus a little somethin' extra. Call it... a game a hide and seek, if ya like.

I'll be attachin' some things ta my Litleo and let 'em loose throughout the circus grounds. If ya can catch one, or at least get the prize off their collar, then you'll get a prize! With a few grand prizes, too, if yer lucky. [He gives a wink.] For anyone who works for me, ya can give it a shot too. Wouldn't want ya ta miss out on the fun.

[Stretching his arms over his head, Joker laughs.]

I wanted ta make this a more official sorta announcement, instead a y'all seein' me like this- [He gestures vaguely to his hair situation, the Gardevoir batting away his fingers before they can touch the dye.] -but Angel didn't 'ave the patience ta wait.

Anyway, I'm bein' bullied ta take care a this, so I'll let Invidia handle one last piece a business.

[And the Gardevoir gently pushes her trainer along out of the frame. Sure enough, there's another person taking Joker's place- anyone familiar with his Zoroark can tell it's Invidia using his preferred human illusion.]

Ah... Ahem. For the following, you're cordially invited to an after-show dinner on Eve's Garden's anniversary: Jimmy Two-Shoes, Wrath, Chihiro Fujisaki, Ronald Knox, William T. Well, I've always been curious! So I thought why not, eh? [Even if, paired with his own purple eyes, it makes him look a bit like a homunculus, but oh well!]

Good a reason as any. I might be biased, but experimenting with appearances is always worth a shot.

[He designed the hair on this form a bit too specifically to really want to mess around with it and possibly wreck it altogether, but that's what wigs are for.]

It'll be a bit harder to pick out the top of your head in a crowd, though.

Sorry ta make things difficult for ya. If it helps any, I don't plan on changin' my wardrobe, ha ha.

[Well, now things are serious. Joker settles back a bit, raising an eyebrow coolly.]

We met in Kalos, durin' that New Years celebration. Figured the two of ya knew each other, considerin' everythin', but it never really came up too often when we've chatted.

Yeah, someone shows up here with black hair and named after a sin, they're probably one of us.

[SERIOUS AND ALSO KIND OF AWKWARD.]

So...you get along with him?

[Envy figures he must because he's inviting Wrath to this dinner, but he can't help being surprised that Wrath's getting along with ANYBODY. Especially a human.]

[Not that he should probably be so surprised considering himself but well.]

Yeah! Tricky little thing, ain't he? [But Joker is smiling as he says it.] Probably gets inta trouble all the time, ha.

If I could keep 'im outta it, that'd be nice, but he seems a bit outta touch with some things.

[Like basic social interaction.]

Ha, yeah, trouble sure is a word for it.

[AhahaHA. But there haven't been any murders on the news, and that's pretty okay on the trouble front as far as homunculi go.]

He's really young, there were some weird circumstances about how he was born. So...he listens to you?

[Just about every time Envy sees Wrath, he's in trouble and then he and Envy just wind up screaming at each other.]

Suppose he does. Just like any other lad his age, really.

[You know, the lads Joker knew at that age. On the streets. Where you did all sorts of dumb shit to survive. He is absolutely not judging some of the crap that comes out of Wrath's mouth.]

[Although... Joker isn't lying. Sure, Wrath says some things and there's obviously... something up, something more that Joker isn't privy to just yet, but so what? He's still a kid, laughing and entertained by card tricks and all that. Joker can't really see him as anything but just a wayward street kid.]

We manage ta have fun whenever we meet up, although I am worried he's a bit, ah... Not all there with some things. Taught 'im how ta fix himself up just in case- he seems like the kinda lad ta break his leg doin' somethin' foolhardy, after all.

Ah...yeah, it's good you did. Back in our world, things like us can get hurt, but we'd heal from our injuries right away even if someone killed us. So none of us ever had much reason to learn to be careful or how to fix ourselves up.

Did I ever tell you what exactly I am? What Wrath and Lust are too? There's a reason he's like he is.

[He can't remember if he has, which is almost surprising. It used to be that he'd keep close track of who knew what and was wary as hell of telling anyone. Now it barely seems to matter, nobody's ever taken issue with him being less than human.]

Ah... Don't think ya have.

[Joker's own expression is starting to get a bit more serious, now that they're venturing into this sort of territory, and he shifts a bit in place as he takes a seat.]

But... know it ain't human... And some folks might say ya don't have families.

[And apparently creepy shadow babies are involved somehow?? He's not entirely sure how much of all of that was dream nonsense or actually real.]

[Envy tenses noticeably when Joker mentions the part about families. Where had he heard that? Wrath, probably. Damn it.]

No, we're not supposed to be able to have emotions, much less make connections with people. We're not even supposed to be people. I believed that until I came here.

[He lets out a short, self-deprecating laugh.]

We're the dead brought back to life. Except that's not really possible, not even by the best alchemists around, so we're just the flawed results. We're born with a few memories and once we get ourselves put together all the way, we look like who we were supposed to be. Ages and all.

Wrath's a special case, but he's...he hasn't spent much more than a year in the world, I think.

Well. I coulda told ya it was all bullocks ta start with.

[Joker's own expression isn't exactly favorable. If this Master of theirs ever shows up... So help him, he doesn't think he can be held accountable for himself.]

[Envy lets out a little huff of a laugh.]

[But it shows on his face that he appreciates the sentiment a whole lot.]

He wound up with those Rocket guys when he showed up, so I guess they are. Better than if he'd been out in the woods, probably.

[Envy doesn't look too pleased about Wrath being in with the Rockets. He wasn't at the start because it meant that Wrath was in Goldenrod and not off somewhere else, but now he's just not fond of the idea in general. But he somehow seriously doubts that the Rockets at their worst are as bad as Dante was on a good day.]

We've all been keeping an eye out on the network, and Greed can talk with him civilly since Wrath doesn't recognize who he is.

Oh, is that so?

[Maybe he can ask Snake to keep an eye on the boy then... Since Crocker is officially out of the business, so to speak.]
