[pipers_son]

[For a moment, the video just shows the floor rapidly moving beneath it and maybe a hint of fang in the upper portion of the screen. There's the sounds of things sizzling and knives chopping, and then the camera moves again as whoever is holding it straightens up. It's the kitchen of one of the inns, and there's Joker in rather plain clothes. His empty sleeve is tied up, and he seems busy chopping up an onion with his Mime Jr. keeping it in place for him.]

There we go, that's a nice grip. Don't worry, now the first time I've handled a knife, I won't nick ya. Water's ready? [The Mime Jr. gives a cheerful nod.] There's my girl, now just dump this in it and keep an eye on it from time ta time. Beef next, right?

[As the Mime Jr. goes to dump the onions in a nearby pot and get some beef, Joker starts to set up some other things like ginger and some soy sauce. Of course, then he notices the little thing recording him... He looks surprised for a moment before laughing.]

Rogue, ya sneak! [He comes over and retrieves the Pokegear.] Thought you were supposed ta be stayin' with Lightnin' and Haru watchin' over that newborn and the egg. Ah well, supposed that was expectin' too much of ya.

[Now, to the Pokegear-] A good mornin' to the rest of ya! Just arrived in Violet yesterday with my new friend Mayuri, but my Rogue evolved on the way. Looks like he's gotten more excitable for it. [He turns the gear to focus on the camera-pokemon, which turns out to be an excited Furret who can't stop wiggling.] Wasn't expecting that to happen so soon, but there ya go. Angel was about to do the same, but I think she's a bit scared of it... [Now to focus on the Mime Jr., who does look a little concerned...] Had to remember what the book said to make it stop, got fairly lucky. I was just wonderin' if anyone knew a way to keep it from happening permanently? Angel doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to this evolvin' business, and I'd rather keep her happy..

[Joker turns the camera to his smiling face.]

Just remembered! Who's still in Violet? I wouldn't mind meetin' up with some folks after I finish my little job here.

I haven't seen one in Violet so far, so I suppose they're in one of the bigger cities. All the more reason to get ta Goldenrod, then!

[He sets the 'Gear down onto the kitchen counter, wiggling his fingers at the Eevee with a little smile.]

Much obliged for the advice! Angel's been fussin' about it since it happened.

Not a problem.

[Sho's own manic, fanged smile bursts out when the Eevee chirps happily at Joker and waves his paw back at him. Nor likes making people smile, and meeting new people.]

I am keeping the twins as Eevees until they decide what they want to be.

[What a smile on this guy! Not that Joker minds. He's seen quite a few in his previous line of work. He goes back to work cooking, cutting up the beef while his Mime Jr. keeps a good hold on it.]

Until they decide, huh? Didn't know it could go different ways! Still learnin' the ropes and everythin', although I like to think I have a decent handle on it.

With Eevees, yes. Flareon, Epsion, Umbrion, Jolteon, Vaperon, Leafeon, and Glaceon are all potential evolutions for Eevees. I intend to have one of each, but I am letting them pick.

[Happy Pokemon are Pokemon giving their full effort, after all! Sho ruffles Nor's ears with an all-black hand and then beeps his inquisitive little nose.]

A 6 Eevee team would cover almost every type, eventually.

[Joker flashes another smile to the camera.]

Have they shown a preference for anythin' yet?

Not these two. I had a Flareon, but when I was sent back he left.

[He keeps his voice light and his expression Sho-neutral (which means smiling) but it really does hurt that most of his Pokemon left when he did.]

That's a shame. Maybe you'll find each other again.

[The Mime Jr. looks up sharply as if berating the other for something, but Joker sort of pointedly pretends not to notice. Darn empaths.]

I'm sure they'll be showstoppers whichever way they go, right? [That last bit is directed to the Eevee.]

Not going to count on it.

[Sho says wryly] I'm just glad that the twins stayed.

[Nor squeaks proudly, fairly clearly informing Joker that he is already a showstopper thank you. The twins may have picked up some of Sho's ego, God help them.]

I'd say they seem glad fer it as well. [A chuckle at Nor's proud squeaking.] So, any other plans for this place besides makin' such a team?

Become the best known trainer in the world. [Sho doesn't just have an ego, he has a whole egosphere.] Just gotta pick up and get back to where I was.

[His fingers, hidden from sight, start tapping out a sequence; 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34...for Sho, it is soothing. For other people the tapping tended to get damn annoying damn fast.]

[Well, nothing wrong with a healthy ego! Even if this is pretty dang swollen. Joker won't be the one to pop it, 'tho.]

Sounds like an interestin' goal! Where are ya at now? I suppose it involves this whole gym business, right?
