[From the looks of things, Joker is somehow stuck in a tree. Also from the look of things, he fell in it.]

Well, that was a bit of a failure, far as things go.

So, any folks wanna suggest somethin' of the flyin' variety? Me and Torch gave it a try but, well, she's a bit too fond a goin' fast and doesn't care for the gloomy weather.

[Action]
[Anyone actually in Goldenrod and passing through the local park... Well, you can probably spot Joker still stuck in the tree. Every now and then he gives a bit of a wiggle, shifts to the one arm, looks down... and then apparently decides to stay stuck. The Charizard flapping about and giving dismissive snorts doesn't seem impressed.]

[Could you look any less uncool, trainer?]

You can't go wrong with a Salamence! As long as it doesn't spend too much time jumping off cliffs while it's a Shelgon, anyway.

They even learn Fly without the HM.

Well, ain't that somethin' in its favor! [Joker shifts and makes himself comfortable.]

Although I do have the HM so it wouldn't be much a problem one way or the other. Take it ya got one yerself?

I do -- Adder's one of my best friends. I already knew dragons were loyal, but she certainly continues the trend.

[He inspects Joker's position, tilting his head a bit.]

I've never met dragons before I came ta this place, but glad ta hear they're agood lot!

..And eventually. Have ta have one of my team fetched so she can help me out.

I think she's a bit embarrassed ta be seen with me, frankly. But she hasn't left, so there's that.

Oh, it's...always fun when our loyal companions act that way, isn't it? At least you've got company.

So -- Torch. Is she a Charizard?

Yep! Adopted her from the Breedin' Center a while back. Say 'hello', Torch.

[Joker shifts the 'Gear around to show the face of a Charizard peering through the leaves, snorting at her trainer's relaxed attitude.]

[Hiccup gives a wave, even if the Charizard isn't necessarily pleased to be seeing him.]

Well, that definitely explains why she doesn't like the weather. She isn't the first Charizard I've known to be a little reluctant about being used for riding, either -- Musphel wouldn't even evolve into one, when I had him...

When yer tail is made a flame, I can see why. At least it ain't so dangerous for my Rapidash, just makes her grouchy.

My Angel didn't much care for evolvin' either, which I think she's happy with. Hasn't made her any less a force a nature, I'll tell ya.

IT's...not exactly a fair condition. A Charmeleon I know was born with a weak tail flame. He's better now, but his trainer stayed up with him all night after he hatched. Kind of tense, for a while there.

There are a few like that. What kind of pokemon is Angel?

Glad ta hear it. Sounds like he's lucky ta have a fella like you around. I'm sure he won't forget it.

[Joker knows he never forgot his own savior.]

She's a Mime Jr.! Ever seen one?

Er, no, I -- he belongs to a friend of mine. But I like to think he and I are friends, now that he's done being terrified of everything.

I can confidently say that I have not.

Well, she'll be here in a minute- there she is! Say 'lo, Angel!

[He shifts the camera to look down at the base of the tree where a small Mime Jr. is looking up. Despite the absurdity her trainer has gotten into, she still gives a smile and a wave.]

[She might not be a dragon, but she's still cute! She gets a wave, too.]

So your cavalry has arrived, huh? She does look like she's got some hidden strength to her.

Yep, she's a rather clever lass. Started out with her, y'know. Helps keep the rest a the team in line!

[As Joker chatters on, Angel just raises her little hands, like she's looking up at him through a frame. Some psychic energy ripples out and soon enough the camera and its holder are being moved.]

Yep, there we go.

Starters tend to be special, that way. Man, when's Starter Appreciation Day, again...?

[But he abandons that thought to watch Angel's work in interest. When Joker's back on his feet, Hiccup gives a short clap.]

Very impressive! So she's a psychic type? I'll have to see if my own psychic knows any useful tricks like that.

It's all just thinking creatively~. You'd be amazed at the kinda moves ya can use for things outside a battle!

Mhmn. Unfortunately her last trainer wasn't the most, er, creative?

[Intelligent. The word he is looking for is intelligent.]

So I doubt she's had much practice, outside of battle. We'll definitely play around with ideas now, though.

Well, if ya ever want ta chat about it, I'm always open for it so long as I'm not runnin' a show!

You put on the circus? [is he wording right, he doesn't know] I only just learned what that was, a while ago. I'll have to go to one soon. We don't have that where I'm from.

You won't believe how many people I've heard that sad fact from.

But no worries~. We put on shows once a month, and there's a flyin' service if you're in another town. Entertainment, food, games, we have it all!

Or at least enough of it. [He gives a teasing wink.]

Great. I'll probably be traveling, but a flying service isn't needed. Something tells me that wouldn't travel like Carmen and I travel.

[...to be fair, they're awfully insane when it comes to their flying.]

Give me a heads up, though, and I'll see of we can make it! It's in a Goldenrod, huh?

[He recognizes Joker's surroundings.]

Most a the time, yeah. Figure, middle of the country, big city... Good a place as any, yeah?

It's definitely a popular place. Haven't made my way back there yet, but I used to spend a lot of time in Goldenrod.

Has it been going well, there?

[He's still kind of picturing a Berk competition, and it's a weird combination with the city's high buildings.]
