[Here's Joker this fine morning, twirling a Glacier Badge between his fingers while Rogue the Furret stays wrapped around his shoulders with some pleased chirping noises. He seems exhausted, although in a pleasant way. Someone clearly just got done with a Gym battle.]

I have ta say, I'll give it ta that Pryce... Clever old codger. Gave my lot a run for our money even with the strength difference. Guess it's true what they say about age and experience, eh?

[He finally stops toying with the badge, tucking it away and giving a grin to the camera. Rogue gets a ear scratch for his troubles.]

It seems like a shame ta leave right after that in such a nice little town like this! Anythin' interestin' ta see, for those who've passed through before? Or... [A thoughtful hum.] Wonder if I could make it ta Blackthorn real quick... Wouldn't mind finishin' things up.

Hey, congratulations on the badge.

As for what there is to do in Mahogany...I haven't been there for a while, but there's a lake up north of the city that's a nice little place. Watch out for the Bidoofs in those woods, though.

It might've just been the circumstances, but I know I wouldn't want to run into those things again. They're faster than they look.

Good on you, mate! 'Fraid I can't give much advice about sightseeing but it looks like you're well on your way with those badges.

Yeah, Pryce is kinda a pain. Ice types might have a lot of weaknesses, but from an offensive standpoint...

[Well, they're the type that fells almost all the dragons out there. That kinda speaks for itself.]

Anyway, if you're looking for stuff to do, I think they've got an ice skating rink. Don't know if it's still open, but it's worth a shot.

I remember Ralph chattin' about the lake some time ago! It might be a detour, but I suppose I wouldn't mind it too much, dependin'. Somethin' ta keep an eye out for, anyway.

[He has a few more water and ice types now, after all, who might enjoy a dip.]

Just the one, for Johto! There's still all a Kanto I haven't seen yet, but I ain't in much a hurry for that.

Ice skating... Y'know, I can't ever say I've done that.

Any tips for a first timer?

Me and the fine miss that runs Blackthorn's are well acquainted with one another. All I have ta do now is actually win against her. She's a fierce one- I'll be lookin' forward ta it.

[Nice to see if Clair's reputation holds up, after all.]

Well, gettin' a type advantage always helps, but s'all down ta strategy. So long as ya can coordinate your team as a whole, then ya always have a chance ta win overall.

[Riku never made a habit of getting to know the Gym Leaders, but that was largely a part of his teenage ego. Maybe he should rectify that.]

But there's a first time for everything. Might as well give it a shot, right?

I've gone off myself, actually. Heading off with Will to take on the gyms. He's got it in his head that it's something he's absolutely got to do for some reason.

Just a lot a chatter about his experiences and such. Hear that he's the oldest gym leader in most a the circuits? Everyone else these days tends ta be on the younger side a things. He seems pretty happy about that, 'tho.

He seems ta be dealin' with his old age well!

[Which is good to hear. Joker knows it's unlikely that he'll get to live to that kind of age, but it's nice that there are others who enjoy every bit of life they get.]

I'll have ta give it a try, then! I'm sure a few of my own wouldn't mind givin' it a go, too.

I won a badge too, says Ruskin. [He pulls out a Fog Badge and shows it off. His eyes are bright with some pride in himself, refreshingly.]

Rogue's been with me second longest, next ta Angel. We communicate well. [A pleased chirp from the Furret in question.] Anyway, that's right. I only have one more ta get.

Congrats! I had faith that ya would all do it just fine. Especially our reliable ol' Snake. [A wide grin.] We'll have ta celebrate when I get back!

Gotta give him props for sticking with it for so long. I'm guessing the other leaders are standing in for parents or family members who retired. The fact that he's still going shows that he really cares about his job.

[Not that the others don't, but there's something about having a more seasoned battler that's pretty awesome in its own right.]

And, hey, skating might even help you prep up for the ice path, unless you plan to fly past it.
